‘Inspiring bright futures and minds’
St Ives Primary & Nursery School is an extremely happy school, providing a caring environment in which each individual is truly valued. A dedicated, well-qualified teaching staff provides an excellent education, whilst a wealth of extracurricular opportunities helps children to develop their talents to the full. At St Ives, high expectations underpin all that is undertaken. Forward looking in our approach, we are committed to preparing young people for an ever-changing world. We want our children to feel cared for and valued and, in turn, to care for and value others. We want all the children here to feel really good about themselves because we know that happy, confident children will both do the best they can, and be the best they can.
The beautiful location and excellent facilities play their part too, but it is the quality of relationships throughout the school that creates such a welcoming environment for children and parents alike.
Choosing the right school for your child is a major decision so we invite you to come to St Ives, to meet pupils and staff and to view our impressive facilities. You can be assured of a very warm welcome!

‘Learning, perseverance and manners’

Three Legged Cross First and Nursery School is a small, friendly village school for children from 2 to 9 years, situated between West Moors and Verwood. Our school has the benefit of large grounds with a number of field areas and playgrounds, along with a dedicated forest area and pond.
Our school has a family feel with small classes, (our published admission number is 20), and a focus on high achievement within an ethos of ‘learning, perseverance and manners’.
Active learning for the future is promoted using high quality resources to bring learning to life. Our children use the benefits of technology to support their learning in our Apple Mac library area. Weekly forest learning sessions, with our qualified Forest School Leader, reinforce our commitment to good manners and the application of learnt skills in the outdoor environment. Maths mastery is taught through concrete, pictorial and abstract approaches, backed up with high quality text books to ensure embedded learning.
We would be delighted for you to come and look around our school for us to share our learning with you and for you to see our school in action.

‘Make great choices. Be our best’
Set in a delightful rural location, our school and nursery benefits from large open plan classrooms, plenty of outdoor learning space and a well established forest school.

We follow a creative, child-led curriculum and whilst our children excel at Maths and English we are careful to balance this with an interactive, innovative and fun approach to all subjects covered.
We have a strong team of friendly dedicated staff who are committed to providing a high-quality learning environment where children can achieve, enjoy and thrive in all areas of nursery and school life.
We offer high-quality care and education starting in our Nursery from age 2 through to age 9 after which children can choose from a variety of local middle and Junior schools.
It would be our pleasure to show you around or talk to you over the telephone and discuss your child joining the St.James' that we are so very proud of.

The staff are a dedicated team who are committed to providing a broad, rich curriculum, along with an exciting range of enrichment and extra-curricular activities which enables all of our children to develop a love for learning and reach their full potential.
To enable our children to grow from tiny acorns when they join us in Nursery, to mighty oaks as they leave us at the end of year 4, we aim to ensure strong values are instilled within us all. Everyone in our school community is caring and respectful at all times.
We nurture our children to become confident, independent and resilient learners with the belief that they will achieve their dreams and goals. We provide learning opportunities that allow our children to be inquisitive, fascinated and develop awe and wonder in the world around them.
